Audio
Sound-effects generation
Generate footsteps, ambience, impacts and foley from a text prompt.
What it is
Sound-effects APIs generate short non-musical audio (a door slam, rain on a roof, a sci-fi engine) from a text description, or from a video to match what happens on screen. They replace searching a stock library for the exact clip you need.
How pricing works
Billed per second or minute of audio generated, or per generation. We normalise to one minute of generated audio; because effects are short, your real cost is closer to price per generation times the number of retries.
We compare everything in one unit: USD per minute of audio.
Typical uses
- Foley and ambience for video and games
- Dynamic sound in apps and interactive media
- Placeholder sound design in prototypes
- Adding sound to AI-generated video
What to compare
- Realism and prompt adherence
- Maximum length
- Looping and seamless tails
- Sync to video
Watch out for
- You usually need several generations to get the right take.
- Layered effects (many sounds at once) are harder than single sounds.
- Check licensing for commercial release.
